About Red Tea
At the feet of the majestic Cederberg Mountains in the western part of the tip of South Africa, fragrant valleys of oranges and lemons share space with a well-kept secret – the rooibos herb.
Aspalathus linearis, commonly known as rooibos, is a bright, fragrant shrub that blooms brilliant yellow. Fields of it sway in balmy South African winds, looking like a lush green version of the sagebrush of our western prairies sprinkled liberally with yellow stars.
Fermented and dried under the hot African sun, the soft, needle-like leaves of the rooibos shrub turn a rich shade of red. And the result is a delightful, lightly smoky, soft red effusion that, drunk hot or cold, serves up a healthy dose of anti-oxidants, potassium, and other minerals. And it’s naturally free of caffeine.
Health Benefits of Red Tea
Rooibos is full of health benefits, and has been used for years by people with irritability, headaches, disturbed sleeping patterns, insomnia, nervous tension, mild depression or hypertension, and even allergies. Not just a great natural remedy, Roobios
- is rich in flavonoids and polyphenols.
- contains SOD (superoxide dismutase), a powerful anti-oxidant, as well as other anti-oxidants not found in other teas. Anti-oxidants fight free radicals in the body
- helping slow the process of aging and the decline of the immune system.
- supplements the daily amounts of calcium, manganese and especially fluoride, needed for the development of strong teeth and bones.
- contains zinc and alpha-hydroxy acid, which promote healthy skin and magnesium which is necessary for a healthy nervous system.
- is low in tannin and therefore does not prohibit the absorption of iron and proteins into the body.
- contains no oxalic acid, it can be drunk freely by people suffering from kidney stones.
- has a soothing effect on the skin, relieving itching and certain skin irritations like eczema, diaper rash and acne when directly applied to the affected area.
Please note that our ChocoLatté products do not contain milk or sugar, but the all natural ingredients including cocoa provide a delicious hint of chocolate in both the aroma and taste.
About ChocoLatté Tea
Kalahari ChocoLatté Tea uses cacao nibs, a pure raw chocolate. Known as the soul of chocolate, the nib is the edible part of the cocoa bean after it’s been harvested, dried, fermented, roasted and hulled.
For thousands of years, the cacao tree has grown naturally in the Amazon basin. The cacao bean was so prized by ancient cultures that as far back as 1000 BC it was utilized for it’s medicinal qualities. In some civilizations cacao beans were actually used as money.
Health Benefits of ChocoLatté Tea
New scientific studies have discovered that dark chocolate and tea contain an abundance of healthy flavonoids call catechins.
These catechins are naturally occurring polyphenol antioxidants known for their protective effects against destructive molecules called free radicals – atoms that can cause premature aging, cancer, heart disease, stroke and degenerative illness.
Kalahari ChocoLatté Tea combines the powerful cell-protecting antioxidants of tea and chocolate to provide this innovative double dose of health enhancing wellness.
About Energy Tea
All Kalahari Energy Teas contain Guarana, a natural herb found in the Amazonian rainforest. It was discovered centuries ago, deep in the Amazon Basin by Maué Indians who used its natural sources of caffeine as an energizer to increase mental alertness, fight fatigue and increase stamina and physical endurance. Research has found guarana to be an effective energy boost.
All Kalahari Energy Teas also have Eleuthro Root as a key ingredient. Eleuthro Root is a member of the ginseng family, although of a different genus than other popular ginsengs such as American ginseng and Panax. It’s considered to be an “adaptogen” – an overall body stabilizer that may help individuals cope with physical and emotional stress, revitalize endurance, reduce fatigue and improve coordination and reaction time.
Each Energy tea is specially blended to keep you fueled for life’s safari.
Health Benefits of Energy Tea
As an adaptogen, Eleuthro Root naturally increases resistance to stress, improves vitality, and promotes homeostasis in the body.
Guarana is a natural stimulant that acts on the central nervous system to prevent fatigue and break down lactic acid – making it an excellent natural energy source.
